Robert Dubose is a 1990 graduate of Rice University and a 1993 graduate of the Harvard Law School. During law school, he was an editor for the Harvard Journal of Legislation. Before specializing in appellate law, Robert had an active litigation and trial practice with Mayor, Day, Caldwell & Keeton, L.L.P. He then focused his practice on appellate law as an associate and partner with Cook & Roach, L.L.P.

Robert is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Appellate Law. He has handled appeals regarding a variety of civil law issues, including trial and appellate procedure, U.S. and Texas Constitutional issues, insurance coverage, personal injury, and commercial and contract disputes. For the past three years, Texas Monthly has recognized Robert as a “Rising Star” in appellate law.

Robert actively participates in service and teaching activities related to appellate law. Robert is Chair of the Appellate Section of the Houston Bar Association.  Since 1998, he has taught courses at the University of Houston Law Center, including Appellate Advocacy and Insurance Appeals. He has also spoken and written papers on a variety of litigation and appellate law topics for seminars presented by the State Bar of Texas, University of Texas, and the Houston Bar Association.
