Robert Dubose graduated from Rice University (B.A.) and Harvard Law School (J.D.). He is Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Appellate Law. He is a past-chair of the Appellate Section of the Houston Bar Association. He is listed under Appellate Law in the 2008, 2009 and 2010 editions of Texas Super Lawyers as well as The Best Lawyers in America.
Robert handles appeals regarding a broad range of issues, with particular emphasis on insurance coverage and commercial and contract disputes. He also works with trial lawyers before appeals on legal strategy, including arguing the jury charge and preserving arguments for appeal.
Since 1998, Robert has taught courses at the University of Houston Law Center, including Appellate Advocacy and Insurance Appeals.
Robert is the author of the book,
Legal Writing for the Rewired Brain: Persuading Readers in a Paperless World (Texas Lawyer Books 2010). In it, he explores how technology is changing the way judges read, and suggests new strategies for writing more clearly and persuasively. Robert also is co-author of “A National Strategy for Creating Favorable Precedent” in the 2010 issue of the DRI magazine,
