Jennifer R. Tillison received her B.A. in Economics and English from Rice University in 1983 and then spent a few years as a legal assistant in the Business Litigation Section of Vinson & Elkins L.L.P. She graduated from Harvard Law School in 1989, having served as the Managing Editor of the Harvard Environmental Law Review.

After graduating from law school, Jennifer served as a law clerk for Judge John R. Brown of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Upon completion of her clerkship she joined the law firm of Gibbs & Bruns, L.L.P., where her work focused on both the trial and appellate aspects of complex commercial litigation. Jennifer later worked as a contract lawyer preparing appellate and trial briefs for both Beck, Redden & Secrest, L.L.P. and Dobrowski & Associates, L.L.P. She has published the leading article on judgment interest rules, Subject to Appeal, which already has been cited by several courts.
