Susan Vance came to ADJT after a two-year clerkship with Judge Thomas M. Reavley of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Prior to her clerkship Susan worked in private practice doing arbitration, civil trial and appellate work, with an emphasis on complex business litigation, energy, real estate, and aviation law.
Susan received her JD degree from the University of Texas School of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Texas Journal of Business Law. Before law school, Susan graduated summa cum laude from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, worked as an investment banker for a major securities firm, and ran her own real estate consulting and brokerage firm.
Susan is active in American Inns of Court and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas School of Law, where she teaches Appellate Clerkship Writing. She is licensed to practice in Texas and New Mexico state courts, federal district courts in the Eastern, Southern, and Western districts of Texas, and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Tenth Circuits.
