Amy Warr came to Alexander Dubose Jones & Townsend after serving five years as an Assistant Solicitor General for the State of Texas.  While at the Solicitor General’s office, Amy briefed approximately thirty appeals, including the “Ten Commandments” case in the United States Supreme Court and the 2005 “School Finance” case in the Supreme Court of Texas.  Amy also presented five Fifth Circuit arguments for the SG’s office, including one argument en banc, as well as two arguments before the Supreme Court of Texas.

Amy received her undergraduate degree from Brown University and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law, with honors, in 1995.  Amy then served as a Briefing Attorney for Justice Craig Enoch on the Supreme Court of Texas.  In between her service on the Supreme Court and the SG’s office, Amy worked for an Austin firm where she conducted a general appellate and governmental practice, which included appeals to the Supreme Court of Texas and Texas courts of appeals.  Amy argued her first case to the Supreme Court of Texas as a second-year Associate, winning a hard-earned victory against a veteran Supreme Court practitioner (current colleague Doug Alexander).

Amy is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  For 2005 and 2007, a joint publication of Texas Monthly and Law & Politics  recognized Amy as a “Rising Star” in Appellate Law.
